What should be considered on the floor to be laid solid parquet?
Points to be Considered on the Flooring of Solid Parquet;

1. Screed should be poured frequently. It should not make any marks when the hammer is hit on the screed or should not create deep marks and dust when trying to scrape with nails.

2. The screed must be dry and rested. Cement-based screed should be rested for at least 30 days. The moisture content in the screed should be maximum 30 when measured with a GANN type hygrometer. Parquet should never be applied before the humidity decreases to this value.

3. No large cracks. In this case, the synthetic resin additive must be filled with added mortar.

4. There must be no level difference on the screed. The floor to be laid should be smooth enough without wavelength and should show extreme level differences in itself.

5. Screed should not be rough. The excessive roughness of the screed to be installed on the parquet will lead to a waste of adhesive and consequently prolong the drying process of the adhesive.

6. Screed must be clean. The piles of gypsum cement that have been left on the screed for any reason should be scraped off with a steel spatula, the floor should be wiped with a damp cloth or the dust must be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.

PARQUET FLOORING

- All plumbing should be reviewed and water leaks caused by any reason should be eliminated. The biggest enemy of wood is moisture and direct water contact!

- The selected ground level must be the same at each point.

- The temperature of the environment where the parquet will be laid should not be less than 15 ° C.

- It should be ensured that there are no repairs other than paint finish coat.

- All the joinery and window glass of the place where the parquet will be installed must be installed.

- Solid parquets should be placed at least 10 days before the laying process and if the nylon package is inside, the package should be torn off at several places.

- After the parquet laying process, at least 10 days before the elimination of the polished process should not be done. Wood is a living material and may show slight movements depending on the humidity and temperature of the environment in which it is applied. If the polishing process is done immediately, the pores of the parquet will be closed and an event called a spoon will occur on the parquet surface that will adapt to the wood moisture in a much longer time.

- Nylon should not be laid on the parquet while waiting before the polishing process, but only breathable materials such as air permeable cardboard fabric should be wrapped.

INFLATING OR FLOORING OF THE FLOOR

Due to:

- The parquet is too dried
- The glue used is kept too long
- Poor and poor quality of the ground
- The floor is not clean enough
- The floor is extremely damp

- If the swelling has occurred within the first ten hours after laying, the only reason is that the parquet has absorbed excessive moisture.
The moisture content of the parquet to be laid should be between 8-12%. As is known, parquet adhesives are generally water based. Glue consumption should not exceed 1 Kg per m2. Otherwise this is equivalent to pouring water under the parquet. Even glue should not be used as a filler. If the parquet is separated from the floor or swelling occurs immediately after the polishing process, this is because the screed is not clean, clean and the glue is kept too long. The so-called glue starts to harden superficially and a dry layer is formed which prevents adhesion. Polishing will cause significant stress on the parquet. Therefore, the parquet applied with a bad floor and / or a glue that has been held will not adhere to the floor properly and may be detached from the floor due to the excessive tension caused by the polishing process.
